Among other things, 3D imaging technology enables the endodontist to visualize whether an infection is present and, above all, to assess the complexity of the treatment required to remedy it.

The endodontist is therefore able to assess the number of canals, curvatures and ramifications present in your tooth before starting treatment. He’ll be able to explain the various difficulties he may encounter during treatment and better assess the chances of success, so you can make the best decision for your situation.

Although your dentist may have already taken a 3D image of your mouth as part of an examination during a dental hygiene visit, their equipment, while very versatile in allowing a multitude of applications, often doesn’t offer the optimal resolution needed to analyze a tooth’s root canal system.
