Prepare your first visit

Vestiaire chez Endodontie Montérégie, à Saint-Hubert.

What to expect on your first visit?

Your first visit with us is the most important phase of treatment and involves a consultation with one of our endodontists, who will review the information from your referring dentist and carefully assess your particular concerns.

During the consultation, we’ll take the time to explain what your treatment involves and encourage you to ask any questions you may have. Your endodontist will then develop a personalized treatment plan that may include a number of appointments depending on your situation.

At your first appointment, you can also expect x-rays and a 3D scan. These X-rays and scans are important tools in the development of your treatment plan, as they allow the endodontist not only to see what’s going on beneath the gum line of your tooth, but also to perform a detailed analysis of the problem to provide you with an assessment of the potential outcome, or prognosis, of the indicated treatment.

Preparing your visit

Your general dentist has referred you to us because he feels that specialized treatment is required. He or she should have sent us a referral form, including a summary of the problem that requires our attention and relevant x-rays. We will not be able to provide you with an appointment if we have not received this essential information.

Please complete the online medical-dental questionnaire and send it to us securely via our website to facilitate the opening of your file at the time of your appointment.

Please be sure to bring your medication list and consultation request sheet with you to your first visit, if your dentist has given you one.

Scheduling is very important to our endodontists. However, given the complexity of treatments and the fact that we see many patients for the first time, we sometimes encounter situations beyond our control. As the care of patients already in operating theatres is a priority for us, we ask you to allow sufficient time at your appointment to accommodate such situations. We appreciate your patience and understanding on such occasions.

Cancellation policy

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. We confirm all appointments by telephone 48 hours in advance.

Communication with your dentist

We will send a treatment report to your dentist once the treatment is complete, together with a duplicate of the main X-rays taken during your visit(s).

Payment

When a treatment has been started, but will be completed at a later visit, you will be charged half the fee following the first visit. The balance must be paid in full at the end of the treatment. We accept Visa and Mastercard credit cards, debit cards (interac) and cash. Due to increasing cases of fraud, we are unable to accept personal cheques.

If you have dental insurance, we’ll fill out a standardized form for you to submit to your insurer, so you can receive reimbursement as soon as possible after treatment. Since there are almost as many different dental insurance companies and plans as there are patients, it’s impossible for us to know the specifics of your plan. It is therefore important to check with your insurer to avoid unpleasant surprises regarding your reimbursement.

Please note that we will not pass on your claim directly, so you will have to pay the full amount and submit a claim to your insurer.

We frequently see emergency patients who require immediate care because they are in pain. We apologize in advance for any delays and will do our best to minimize waiting time. We appreciate your patience.
